The Friends of Performing Arts Group combines the energy, enthusiasm, talent and time of the previous Friends of Music and Friends of Drama groups, reflecting the growth in Performing Arts at Girton Grammar over the last decade.
This growth is partially owing to the wonderful Performing Arts Building, with the 鈥淏lack Box鈥 being the jewel in the theatrical crown, and also because of the close and professional working relationship between the Music and Drama Departments at the school.
Girton Grammar fosters an appreciation of Art, Music and Drama from a young age, starting in the Junior School where every child learns a string instrument and is part of a choir.
Two thirds of Girton students, from Prep to Year 12 currently participate in Performing Arts, with over 100 performances within the school and the broader community every year, making the school a key player in the Bendigo Arts scene.
The primary role of the Friends of Performing Arts group is fundraising, to support public performances and to continue to offer facilities of a high standard to all students.
Interested parents, guardians and friends are welcome to become part of this exciting group by contacting the Girton Grammar Performing Arts Administrator on (03) 5441 3114.
